amazed: October 11, 2008, 8PM - The subscription season
will open with Cirque de la Symphonie.This
imaginative production enhanced by Cirque du Soleil performers
will include selections by Dvorak, Khachaturian, Tchaikovsky,
Saint-Saens, Ravel and John Williams. The finest Cirque performers
from across North America will join the ISO for this inventive
collaboration. Expect to be amazed!

enlightened: November 8, 200, 8PM - The ISO will be uniquely
distinguished as one of only two Texas symphonies selected by
the League of American Orchestras to premiere Chasing Light...,
a new contemporary composition by leading American composer Joseph
Schwantner.
The evening
will likewise feature Peabody Conservatory faculty cellist Amit
Peled, one of the youngest and fastest rising cellists in the
United States performing Symphony No. 41 "Jupiter" by
Mozart and Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in B Minor by Dvorak.

thrilled: December 13, 2008, 7PM - The ISO’s all
new Deck the Hall production will feature a veteran Dallas stage
actor cast as The Grinch! Adding
a touch of spice, this much beloved seasonal presentation will
likewise engage a rising pops superstar from Mexico City in a
guest appearance role.

jazzed: February 28, 2009, 8PM - The ISO presents Tony
Desare featuring rising New York City singer/song-writer/pianist
Tony Desare and his trio on the Carpenter Hall stage. Mr. Desare
is a hot young 30-something artist who performs every genre of music.
His third album is set for release in January of 09 just in time
for his dynamite February 28 ‘ISO Presents’ appearance.
Mr. Desare will be featured on CBS Sunday Morning this coming August
and his voice and music will likewise to be featured in 2 motion
pictures releasing in 2008. |

moved: March 13, 2009, 8PM - An All-Star Evening of American
Music will feature a Dallas Cowboy with the Irving Symphony Orchestra.
Selections for this unique event will include The Irving Overture
by Lifshitz and Lincoln's Portrait for Narrator and Orchestra by
Copland. Don’t miss this compelling opportunity to be moved
by American music accompanied by a Dallas Cowboy. Guess who? |

dazzled: April 4, 2009, 8PM – The ISO is joined
by Italian Flutist, Mario Carbotta performing Carmen Fantasy for
Flute and Orchestra by Bizet/Galway, Hungarian Fantasy for Flute
and Orchestra by Doppler and Fantasia Mexicana for Two Flutes
and Orchestra by Zyman. The magnificent Symphonie Fantastique
by Berlioz will conclude the evening.
