The Irving Symphony Association is commited to music education and its aspiriation to engage next generations to experience, appreciate and participate in making great music. More than 8,000 diverse students are served annually through the ISO’s youth concerts. The ISO collaborates with the Irving Independent School District and other schools in the region to produce a variety of education initiatives. Among them are the annual “Concert 4 Kids.” Each year ISO produces 4 free concerts designed to engage, educate and inspire every 5th and 7th grade student in the Irving Independent School District, representing more than 5700 young hearts and minds. These remarkable concerts combine live symphonic masterworks and recent film score selections with artfully choreographed and projected local student art work fitting each year’s theme. This year’s theme is “Dancing with the Symphony.”
The 2012 “Concert 4 Kids” will be presented at Calvary Church, 4401 N. Highway 161, Irving, on Thursday, November 15 and Friday, November 16, 9:00 A.M. and 10:45 a.m.
Over the course of 25 years ISO has served more than 130,000 students in free performances.
